Do more with DATA by exploring DATA Wiki & All DATA Shortcuts Documentation
Auto-replies are both the easiest to set up and I think the most rewarding way to play around with DATA with your friends.
Auto-replies lets you basically have data respond to anyone on your behalf.
Whether they text or email you, your copy of data can get a notification and then with your permission, it can read that message and then reply to it directly and even send the reply.
There's a brief walkthrough video where I show you how to get it set up in the first place and also how to switch it on to fully automated if you prefer it fully automated. In iOS 17, you'll be able to completely automate this start to finish where when you get a new message, it'll just reply to it without you touching anything.
There are several shortcuts that can send texts, emails, or both directly using Apple Shortcuts native integration features.
In theory these can be edited to work with any email or message app that is compatible with shortcuts (you can google to find out which these are)
The first thing to keep in mind with ALL of the messenger shortcuts, is that by default (for safety) ALL of them are set to REQUIRE you to approve a message by tapping “send” before they send anything.
You can turn this off by editing the shortcut, scrolling down to the bottom block where it says “send email” or “send text” and flipping off the “Show Compose Window” toggle.
It is YOUR responsibility to make sure it will work how you want it to before you take that leap!!!
Use this shortcut to draft texts or emails to anyone. It can handle names, emails, or phone numbers as inputs and it will automatically draft the appropriate message type and send it as a text or email based on what you request.
Takes any input (will transcribe with whisper if no input) and finds the most likely contact in your address book, and writes them a very well-written text or email, and presents that final message & recipient to you in the text message or email dialogue.
You can edit the shortcut and turn on Debug mode to see it do this step by step.
It is much better at directly using contact information provided and if you provide contact information directly in your request, it will skip finding the right contact and reply much more quickly.
This shortcut will easily do correctly formatted texts OR emails, but it is kind of slow because it is so thorough. For better performance, see the Quick Reply shortcuts below.
This is an auto-responder for texts and emails from specific people. You can duplicate this, customize the prompt, and hook this up to your CRM to respond to many people at once.
It can also run commands on your phone if you want, so if someone asks for an appointment with you this can make and send them the calendar invite, for example.
Please test this to understand the constraints and risks before using it.
Sorry the audio is messed up, my bad. Typing over the mic will do that I suppose 🤪

Data Quick Reply is like Reply to Message From, but it works much quicker and it only requires one prompt so it's also more affordable.
It is a little less reliable and a little less talented at writing long messages or messages that require a specific format, but it is very reliable for auto-replying to emails.
And then if there is not an email address, but instead there's a phone number, it will send a text instead. There is also a Quick Reply SMS shortcut if you prefer to just force data to send a text message reply instead of an email, and the SMS shortcut formats things much better as texts.
This shortcut is almost identical to data quick reply except that the prompt is a little more fine-tuned for text messages and it works quite well for replying and accounting for other replies in memory. It can have an entire conversation with someone over text message and it will handle compressing memory and any other changes along the way while it's having that conversation so it's really quite impressive. It's like anyone who texts you can use the copy of data that's on your phone. The only difference between this and reply to message from is that reply to message from can run commands whereas this just sends a reply immediately. It's very fast.
